The Target Dog
Rex likes the fact that he looks famous, and he likes to show off his likeness to the Target Dog. Sadly you can’t get dog costumes at Target, but you can dress as the famous dog. Rex added the bow tie for added effect, he said that the females out there dig it. Jessie in her Queen’s outfit and Rex would be a great pair !

Rex would like to thank Target for the inspiration, and to thank Mary for holding his head straight while he was getting the make up done. This look is a lot harer than it seems at first.
To achieve this look we cut out a few cardboard circles, each one smaller than the other, using different sized glasses. Then we got special dog dye, like the stuff people use on sheep and we used that to spray around Rex’s eyes. Remember to insure that the dog is dry and so that the paint won’t drip and go into his eyes. We made the bowtie from an old white shirt and we bought the red bow at Walmart, we used velcro to attach it around Rex’s neck. This is to make sure that if he got caught in something that he could easily break free.

Thats messed up what you did to the dogs eye. You should paint your own eye red.
It was very cool to do that to the dog. I wish our dogs would let us.
I iike the target dog it is cool.I never saw a reale target dog befor. What did you name it after.
Ok so why would you buy the bow from Targets rival Walmart????
hey!!! I love the picture!! I was just wondering where you got your dog? I love his color and want to get one with a black nose like his. thank you!!
wow thats so cool!
the coolest dog that I`ever seen is Rex.When turn 9 years old (my next birthday)I`m gonna get a bull terrier just like Rex.I`m going to put a target round his eye like you did and his first name is going to be Fizz his middle name is going to be mocha like my old dogs name and hislast name is goona be martin.
All I can say is that the above people who think this dog is “cool” or want to get one just like the dog in the picture are clueless and the big loser is the dog you purchase from a puppymill. Bullies are one of most difficult breeds to train and require the utmost in patience. Do your homework first!!
Thanks for posting this! I am planning to dress up my bully, Casper, like the Target dog for Halloween and wanted to get some tips as to how to do it (already bought the pet-safe paint)… The cardboard cutout idea is great! As the person above said, bullies are extremely stubborn and hard to train, so getting my Cas to sit still long enough to paint him should be fun lol…
Sorry you took offense “VS SAYS”. All people are saying is that these dogs are cool…to which they are. I have had various dogs for over 40 years and train them for the past 20 years – owning “bullies” the last 10 years. You are right that all owners should do their “homework”. Bullies (English Bull Terriers) are both very physical and very intelligent (no they are not a “push button pooch – like goldies or lab…sorry for the jab), but if any owner is unwilling to provide patience and time, they should not buy a dog…period! Nothing against cats, but they would be a more suitable family pet.
