I use Picasa to edit all my photos. Picasa is a photo editing software from Google. It’s free to download and it can do practically everything you want. It’s especially good for beginners. In fact it’s so easy to use, my 60 year old dad can use it !

What Picasa can do

You can remove red eye, crop pictures, rotate pictures, and lots more. I can recommend Picasa, if you want to edit some pictures but don’t want to spend money on buying some software. Also Picasa has a great way of searching and monitoring your hard drive for new images, and this way it is alot easier to find images, seeing as it has already indexed them for you. You can scroll through the pictures by timeline, and find the one you are looking for a lot easier.

Here is an example of an image I edited with Picasa:

You can see I fixed the color imbalance, by using the “Image Saturation”. Now the water looks more blue and the bird is more white. And this took just 20 seconds to do. Picasa even allows you to upload pictures to an online gallery with your google account. Check it out !

Creating Collages with Piscasa

Another great feature about Picasa is that you can make collages. A collage is a mixture of other pictures, all put together to form a composite picture. In this collage I have used some of the various filters on a picture of a goldfish. These image filters change the colors in your photograph.
