Charlie the Dachshund Puppy
February 22nd, 2008Sure you may have seen many these cute dogs in the past, but none are as cute as sausage dogs dressed up. I like to call themĀ hot-dog-dog, and I’ve snapped many in the past. Here is Charlie, who is a 4 year old Dachshund, all dressed up in his hotdog costume. Charlie, as well as being a Dachshund, is a very quite, relaxed dog. He’s not really into barking, even when some other dogs think he looks tasty in his little hotdog outfit ! This picture was taken the first time he wore his costume, but since this photo has been taken, there is a bite out of the back of the bun, I kid you not !

I’ve done some research on these and other types of dog breeds and if you are looking for a reserved quite doggie then Dachshunds are for you. Being small they don’t need so much space, and can be even a city dog. Their small legs make them think they have walked alot further than other dog types. And Dachshund puppies are really great pets, they would surprise you how smart these guys are. Charlie knows when it’s time to go for a walk, and he knows that when I dress him up that he is off to somewhere special. One famousĀ was Waldi, he was the Olympic Mascot in 1972, when the Olympic games were held in Munich Germany. Here is a picture of the official Mascot, all dressed up in the Olympic colors.

The Dachshund apparently was chosen because it had the attributes resistance, tenacity and agility which are all things that the athletes should also stride for. If you are thinking of getting one, I can promise you that you will have a great time being an owner of a Dachshund.
